guys i really need some help ive been research some of the causes for the sunken stomachs on my rams and it all seems to be pointing to internal parasites

tank size: 80l
ammonia: 0
nitrite:0
nitrate: 30ppm
fish do eat and swim about but have a tendancy to spit food in and out several tiems before eating it and somethings just leave it

i have varied their diet with brine shrimp bloodworms tetra crisps and as reccommended some greenery but its not really improving

they are about 3 weeks new into this tank and have recently also started losing some of their colour.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Have you fed them plain flakes? Have you tried food which is actually alive and wriggling?

pH? I can't remember if you have mentioned before..

ph is 7.3

yea most of the food was frozen or in flake form however the brine shrimp were alive im worried about these worms and my inability to find any of this 'sera nematol' vaccine for them

The pH is too high for Rams, that might be enough reason for them to not eat.

Where did you get them from? Do you know who the breeder/wholesaler was? (i.e. are they reputable or not)

Is there anything sticking out of the fish's anus? It is quite unlikely to be worms, but possible. Any treatment containing parachlorometaxylenol will kill Nematode worms, it doesn't have to be made by Sera. Also all medications are easily available online.

maidenhead aquatics were the supplier of the rams, the rams in the supplier have started showing the same symptoms of sunken bellies as my rams have.

i shall get some ro to lower the ph of the water and thanks for input

no worms from teh anus as of yet . im keeping my hopes up :)

update the male ram seems to be passing waste normally however i just saw a large white globular thing dragging behing the female.

any ideas?

going to start on an anti parasitic asap
