she has a bad case of pop eye and probably some sort of infection and only stays at the top of the tank what meds should i get for her

It sounds like a bacterial infection. However, it is very hard to recomend meds without knowing where you are from (as members on here are from all over the world).

Also, what are your water stats, ammonia, nitrite, nitrite, and pH?

How are the othe fish?

other fish died (swordtail) :-(
im gonna get some danios and bacterial meds, i live in the US

Please hold off on getting more fish until you have had no deaths for atleast two weeks. You don't want to buy more fish until you have a healthy tank. Also, since you have had a string of illnesses, what is your water stats?

For antibacterial meds, i would recomend a combo of maracyn 1 and 2, or kanacyn. Tetracycline is good too, but it can harm your biological filter.

Good luck!

i got tetracyclin but she wotn eat it, im gonna cover it on the pellets so she has to eat it

Don't add the tetracycline med to your tank as it will wipe the bacteria colony out, as you have only one fish in the tank at present, i would get maracyn two.

Maracyn–Two
Manufacturer: Mardel
A broad-spectrum antibiotic for internal or external gram negative bacterial infections which can even be absorbed through the skin. Effective treatment of fin and tail rot, popeye, gill disease, dropsy (swollen body, protruding scales), septicemia (bleeding or red streaks on the body), secondary and internal infections. Effective even when fish won't eat.
Active ingredient: Mincycline hydrochlor.

i think ill try coating the food in it, if that doesnt work ill go for the M2 solution

That fine if she eating, but if not won't be much use.

Its your choice on what you choose to do. The mechanism by which tetracycline kills the harmful bacteria is also how it kills the good bacteria. I don't see how they can alter the med to make it more selective.

You have been told by two different people tetracycline CAN be harmful (i'm not saying it will be, and the degree of damage can very). In the end, it is your choice. Please be prepared to live with any consequences that come from using the tetracycline.

i returned to the lfs and got maracyn2, but im not sure why the tablets wont dizzolve, im gonna crush them into a fine powder for faster relief

i hope this does the trick, it was $16 !!!! what an outrage
