Sump Questions

I am currently sorting out my sump (still not made yet) I have a refegium in there 5" x 16" x 11" deep wanna put a DSB in there what sort of depth is normal for a DSB ?

Also When I am doing the maths calculations for LR do I add 80L for main tank + 40L for sump or just main tank?

I'd add sump volume when doing LR calculations.

Usually, you want at least 4" for a sand bed, with most people aiming for about 6" as a remote DSB

Thanks Rabbut will go for 5"- 6" with some LR in there and some chaeto to boot

Yup, that's exactly what I had. 5" DSB with Chaeatomorpha on top. I think I had the 11w arcpod in there too. Cheato grew like a weed and my nitrate levels were reading 0 with my salifert testing kit. I just ordered some more chaeto to go in my new tank. That stuff is great. Best nitrate filter money can buy lol.
