Sumatran Wood

I have 2 pieces of this wood, but it wont sink at all! will it always float or can i get it to sink?

Mine took forever to sink so I had to put rocks over them to keep them down I think 2 of the 4 pieces have sunk now but it took about a month.

It does eventually sink, but it doesnt soak up the water as quickly as mopani does, use, as Wills suggested, some large rocks tied to it to hold it down until it eventually stays down on its own.
