Hi, Im fairly new to keeping tropical fish but have learned quite a bit already, this is a very informative site!

I have a 100L tank with gourami's, cardinal's, mollies and a cory but bought a 190L Fluval Venezia the other day. I'm trying to find a suitable species to house in there, preferably a larger kind of fish. I have researched angelfish but the general consensus seems to be that they become quite aggressive when adult. It is a shame as they look so graceful and would brighten up the tank. I had a brief look at discus fish but I haven't got the expertise (or the financial means!) to keep any.

I would appreciate any ideas anyone has, and extra info etc

Thanks very much

hi rachel and welcome to the mad house,
what are the dimention's of this tank please, this will help determin what room you have also are you up for anything?
what country are you located in?

Thanks for reply, the tank has a curved front that measures 43" across, 19" high and 26" deep. Its a fluval Venezia 190, a corner tank, there are pictures on the internet if you wanted to have a look.

Ideally, I'm after something nice to look at and not aggressive as I would like to house some cardinals in there too. Any ideas?

Thankyou :)

Oh and I'm in Wales :)

Get about 8 puffers, 10 cardinals, 10 neons & 10 white cloud mountain minnows. If you can push it, maybe some cories [about 6/8] or 4 pakistan loaches [unlikely]

Hmm, not too keen on puffer fish to be honest, they aren't colourful enough! Anything else I could substitute them with instead? :D

you could go for some cichlid's like keyhole cichlids/jade eyed cichlids/rainbow cichlid but not sure about with neons....have a look at colombian tetra and see what you think
