Bad day today, arrived home from work to find my 7 inch Rainbow Snakehead dried up and dead on the floor, it had jumped through a very small hole in my lid.

Thought i would post to remind other Snakehead keepers to keep a tight lid on their tanks.

Sad times!

Its common sense to always have your tank lids fitted so theres no gaps, Almost all fish are jumpers not just snakeheads.

yeah thanks for that! 1st time it has happened, I have 8 tanks and they all have heavy or weighed down lids, i had inadvertently left the feeding hatch half open,
I had her for about 4 yrs so gutted.

Channa are escape artists, you will need to ensure every gap is covered, even where filter comes into tank, most channa keepers have glass slats/sliders which cover vertually all gaps, but even then still they escape, Sorry to hear loss...I have said on many a thread about this, i recommend anytime you see a channa post with a newbie, tell them
