i have an albino catfish one male, and one female guppy. i am thinking of getting 4 or 5 neon tetra, green tetra or a mix. i have a 10 gallon aquarium with 2 large plants and 2 small. i have a heater thrmometer filter.....

so my question is what kinds of fish will look godd and be compatible with eachother in my tank?

i know that someone out there has a ten gallon set up almost like mine. please tell me what kinds of fish you have and maybe some pictures.

Is it an albino cory? If so, he needs 5 friends and that would be at or over capacity for a 10 gallon tank. Most likely your female guppy is going to drop several batches of fry over the next few months so you need to be prepared for that too. Neons also need to be in a group of 6 or more (of their own kind) but they don’t have much bioload so you could push it with 8-10 if that’s all you had and you kept up with water changes.

In one of my 10Gs I have a trio of platies and one female betta. The other one will have panda cories and either a male betta or a few male guppies from my batch of fry. Ten gallon tanks are limiting but if you do your research and make sure to keep schooling fish together with a compatible solitary one without overstocking, it can be done.

If it is a cory, then you'd be OK with two more cories, one female guppy and five of one tetra species.

flame guppies they will make ur tank get 2 of them and a few tetras thats what i would do

ok tnx everyone and it is a cory it had a friend but one of my algae eater killed it then died itself(he got what was coming to him ) so i will get 6 neon 2 albino and maybe a gummylip pleco.

is that all i can fit?

Don't get the plec, they create far too much waste and most aren't even very good algae eaters.

IIRC, albinos get to be around 2-3 inches so 3 of them would take up 6-9 inches of your tank. That only leaves room for 6 neons at the most, not including the guppy. Unless you are madly in love with the cory, I would find a new home for him and concentrate on the other fish OR just have a group of 6 albinos in the tank. Panda and pygmy cories are much smaller and give you more options.

I know nothing about plecos except that some get huge but I’m not thinking any of them are suitable for a 10G.

so it was prolly stupid but i got 5 neon tetras and 3 glowlight tetras. so now i have
2 guppy
1 albino catfish
5 neon tetra
3 glowlight tetra

oh and do i need airstones?
