just wanted to know what i could add etc to this list, is this over or under stocked

tank is 170 litre

6 cardinal tetra
8 glowlight tetra
3 sterbai cories
3 albino cories
1 pakistani loach
a pair of rams

at the moment most are bottom dwellers i think i should up the corys but i want something middle to top

any suggestions on what to do?

You are definately not overstocked, but well stocked.

Maybe an interesting top-dweller like a killifish of some kind could be nice and add lots of colour.

oh good cos it looks quite bare still and was worried i was getting overstocked lol

i was hoping to add some colour

I recommend you add at least another 4 cardinals, 2 glowlights and 5 yoyo loaches as your next step in stocking.

Then, I would add 3 albino Corys of the same species as the ones you already have and 3 sterbai Corys, before considering any new species.

If you then still have space, honey gouramis make good surface dwellers.. for example 1m 3-5f would go well.

cool thanks for the suggestions i had thought more tetra would be good so thanks for confirming that

would that be too many at the bottom?

i like the gouramis so i'll definitely go check them out at my lfs

What are the bottom dimensions? It should still be fine, I think, especially as the more loaches you have, the more time they should spend playing with each other.

Whatever you go for, stock slowly, of course :)

36" x 17"

not sure if it helps but i have rocks, wood, hides and live plants in there

Hmm, that's smaller than I was expecting.. I'd want at least 48" for yoyos. If I had your tank, I'd trade the lone loach in for more Corys or for a group of dwarf chain loaches.. but a group of yoyo loaches is still better than a single yoyo loach, even in a tank that size.

i am hoping to upgrade in about a years time as i've only just got this tank but i'm loving keeping fish its addictive and so relaxing watching them. i would hope to upgrade to a 5ft or 6ft space allowing.

are you allowed to return fish to your lfs will they take them back?

Depends on the LFS, you would have to call yours up and ask them.. For example, some of mine refuse because they quarantine all fish before sale, others are happy to swap for shop credit, some only take mine because they trust me enough to know that none of mine have any diseases, then again, there are others who will take the fish, but will not give you anything in return..
