Hi all,
After looking at Current's freshwater plus led lighting I LOVED it!
Downside is I can't get one shipped from anyone to the UK...
So...
I need LED lighting for a fluval vicenza 260
It's going to be a cichlid tank so mostly rock with a bare minimum planting.
It's mostly available in 48" to 60" if this helps you find one.

My main requirements are:
I'd like the option to change the colour so I can view the tank at night cus right now it's either lights on or off.
A controller would be nice to change settings from the sofa

Basically as close to Currents freshwater led plus lighting as possible
Price is not an issue if I like the lighting, but with that said no crazy responses please! Haha

If you're not too bothered about plants why not just do the lighting yourself, LEDs are cheap, available in all colours etc. I simply have three banks of LEDs, two sets of clear, one blue, connected to three timers to give the effect of normal, full brightness, normal then moonlight with just the blues on.

Have a look at my thread http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?/topic/420962-my-aquarium-housingcabinet-project/ to see more of what I mean.

Well... if

Price is not an issue

would you consider radion units?

They are principally reef lights, but they have also a freshwater program, and anyway they are fully programmable, so you can program a slowly rising light to simulate sunrise and sunset instead of a straight on/off, it can also take moon phases into account for moonlight, and you can also program whatever colours you want at the time you want.

You can program the chances of cloud cover, so it will automatically have cloudy days, and you can program the chances of a storm, so the lights can simulate heavy cloud cover and lightning. If you have Vortech circulation pumps they even communicate with the pumps to lower the current at night time to let the fish sleep, and to create a storm in the tank when a storm is called by the lights.

They are not cheap though...

You can see what they look like on my Youtube channel, I have two radions and two vortech pumps on my reef.

There is the new Fluval Performance LED units, they look quite good but they don't have controllers afaik

Looked at the radion but I'm after a set that is extendable, my tank is 121cm long so a 48-60" fits perfect as its around 50

Well... you'd have to either mount it higher, and one would illuminate all of your tank or get two radions and mount them at a "normal" height.
As I said, not cheap, but they're fabulous.
