So about a month ago ich took its toll on my tank. I've treated the tank, all signs of ich are gone. Currently in my 36 gallon bow front I am left with a female swordtail a male golden wonder killifish, and 4 kuhli loaches. I plan on adding a few more kuhlis for sure. Id like to stay away from live bearers, but would like some sort of combination of contrasting color and moderate activity. I don't plan on adding anything for a couple weeks yet, but figured now would be a good time for ideas.

What are the dimensions of the tank and is your water hard or soft?

Its a 36 gallon bow front.
Ammonia: 0
nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 5.0 ppm
Ph: 6.9
Temp: 80 f

Not that I'm biased towards rainbowfish *coughs suspiciously* but I think your tank is begging for a rainbowfish addition. I think one of the smaller species like Melanotaenia praecox (dwarf neon rainbowfish) would do well in your tank.

I meant, what is the length x height x width? And pH isn't the same as hardness

Volume is of very little help when choosing fish species, rather than numbers of fish.

Any particular reason you're running at 80°C? That's really a bit too warm for the fish you have.
