I have a very aggressive angel thats turned serial killer, any suggestions on how to manage behaviour or what to do with it would be appriecated.

Back ground
first purchased with 2 other angel to put into a 20 Gallon tank (I know to small but they were going to be moved to a 40 Gallon tank when they got big enough). One angel then proceeded to kill the other two angels, a BN and multiple guppies. After this I transferred it to the larger tank where a large angel is this worked for a while as the large angel seemed to dominate it for a while but now its started chasing/stressing/killing again (so far a female betta and a female sword)

Wow. I've had aggressive angels before, but nothing this bad. If they are large angels, even a 40 gallon is not going to be big enough for three of them. It is easy to forget, but remember that angels are cichlids. Lots of territorial issues and breeding behaviors can bring about aggressive behavior also. Sorry, just general suggestions, I know, but maybe something will help? Good luck.

First of all give him a big spanking and explain to him that his behavior is unacceptable....... just kidding

I think some fish just have aggressive temperments.... maybe seperate him if he continues being mean.

There are a few things you can try. Pull out "killer" and rearrange the tank. This removes any previous territories. Let the rest of the fish get used to the new arrangements for a little bit & calm down from the commotion of rearranging. Keep "killer' in a bucket, he should be ok in there for a good half hour. Cut up a lemon during this time, open a jar of tartar sauce, make sure "killer" gets a wiff. He'll start to get the idea. Put him back in the tank after a half hour, the old territories will be gone. This works around half the time.

You can also put a divider in the tank. I had a pair of brutal marbles, they would tear the snot out of anything in the tank. They didn't calm down some until they were put in a 55 with 8 adult angels, and 20 or so juvies.
