Well, this is a really big shock to me and I don't know what to say really.
In my 10 gallon resides the following:
-5 Whiteskirt tetras
-2 Cories
-1 Male betta
-1 Dwarf Frog
-1 Common Snail
In my 40 gallon resides the following:
-3 Guppies
-2 Angelfish
-3 Spotted Zebra Danios
-2 Lyre Swordtails
-1 Ballon molly
10 Gallon Water Chemistry:
-79F Temp
-7 Month old tank
-0ppm ammonia/nitrites
-6.8 pH
-Contains drift wood
-Carbon Filter
40 Gallon Water Chemistry:
-79F Temp
-2 Month old tank
-0ppm ammonia/nitrites
-7.4 pH (high range test kit) 7.8 pH (low range test kit) who do you trust?
-Carbon Filter
Feeding habbits:
-10 Gallon
Once a day, usually around dusk. Tetras get tetras flakes and cories get algae disks (they share with my betta and snail and frogs.... frog =\ )
Feed for only 2 minutes, I feed one pinch.... It is small!
-40 Gallon
Also around dusk, I feed once a day. Tropical fish flakes usually but I find my Danios like other types of food as well!
Now with all that said, the BAD news.
Last month I bought an angelfish that appeared to be rare to me. He was totally black and I was really impressed with his look. Bought him Friday, while doing my water change in my 40 gallon he started swimming upside down. I thought the water might have been too cold for him (it was about 10F degrees cooler). So I moved him to my 40 gallon to discover that he was doing the same thing. He died over night and I realized that there must have been something wrong with him. Now, I think whatever was wrong with this fish, it might be making my other fish sick? Possible?
Last week I bought a female betta and I was so happy! I was going to breed her. She was not in my 40 gallon for one night and she was dead. Her eyes appeared to be bulging out her head.
Last night Frank (solid black ballon molly) died and he was on the bottom of my 40 gallon with his eyes bulging out his head.
This morning, I found my male betta floating at the top of the water dead with his eyes bulging out of his head in my 40 gallon!!
Later this afternoon one my african dwarf frogs died that I have had for over 6 months in my 10 gallon! Again, his eyes appeared to be the same as everyone else that has died.
I feel like I am running a fish morgue here. I'm really upset and I feel like giving up. I don't know what I'm doing wrong and I have lost some of my favorite fish in 24 hours!!!
I hope an expert out there is reading this and might be able to help me..... Please
