Does anyone know about having sand in a cichlid tank does it cause any dramas?
if so Can you have a combination of sand and rocks in a cichlid tank?

Most cichlids prefer a sand bottom with rocks and/or shells depending on what you have. I'm setting up for shell dwellers and have some black moon sand as well as shells to decorate/house/buffer the water for them.

Sand is absolutely relished by cichlids.....I cannot imagine putting them with gravel.
