Hey guys, I want to start planting on my new tank, which is why I want to switch out my gravel out and put in ADA substrate. My question is, do I just take out the gravel and just put in the substrate? Or do I have to also add another soil before or after it? I know I can add some additives etc, but I know its not essential.

I know I'm going to have to remove my gravel and add the new substrate but I wanted to know if I might have to recycle my tank? I have two mature filter medias from my two tanks. One being the tank I'm going to plant.

I want to plant a Hemianthus callitrichoides carpet on there and I heard that ADA Aqua Soil is a really nice soil. If you guys have any other advice I'd love to hear it :]!

Depends which soil your going for as some are for underneath other soils/substrates.

HC is a great plant requires CO2 for optimum growth tho and good low down flow.
