Hi Guys

I am debating whether or not I should add more substrate to my tank, I currently have 3 bags of Fluorite (Cost me a whopping $170) but I can now source some online for $25 a bag! The catch is they are sold out and will get more stock in 3 weeks

In the meantime I have everything else I need, 6.8kg Cylinder, Reg, Solenoid, Drop Check, Copper Check Valve, Diffuser, CO2 resistant tubing, timer, elbow connections everything. I just want to tear down and re-plant but I want to do it properly. Ill attach some photos of the current substrate depth. It looks lower because of the black bracing around the base.

Im a thinking that perhaps the front is deep enough and that I should just raise the back level. So far I plan on planting Hemianthus callitrichoides, Blyxa japonica and E. tenellus. Try for a Iwagumi but it will no doubt fail/ look ugly due to internal heater, stocking either 30 Hengel's Rasbora or Rummmy Nose

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated

Adam

thanks for the response, I guess I will leave the front as it is and raise the back, unfortunately its an all in one tank so there is nothing I can do. Eventually I might get a 2215 or 2217 and attach it somehow.

Cheers

Adam

It think that there is no such thing as too much substrate. But then again too much can look funny. Add more if you want your plants will be happy you did.

another 3 bags it is then :good:

thanks for the advice
