Substrate For Plants?

when i set my tank up i wasnt thinking about plants so i put about 1inche or 2 inches of sand in the bottom then later i thought i would add some plants will this cause problems ? i have a co2 systems on its way and ive also started dosing ferts i was wondering if its pointless me planting i know its too late cos ive bought my plants but i dont want them to die and make my tank look rotten due to the fact there in sand

It will be fine without any problems as long as your water column dosing and CO2 is up to scratch
