SHOOT! I had moved my molly back into the main tank this morning after some quarantine because the other day she had some white spots. This morning it looked as if they'd cleared up. Now this afternoon I looked back in on her, and although behaving normally, quite nicely in fact, the stupid spots came back. UGH! Maybe it's not white spot? The white molly harasses her constantly and bites her even.. so could it be something with her scales because of the biting? Ugh I have no clue. Help me.

At least her fry are still doing okay.

I figured they would come back. White Spot usually doesn't just disappear that quickly. Maybe they are broken off scales...though that's not very good. Do they look infected? Red? Do they look like salt sprinkled on her?

I'd still raise the temp. and add some salt. Though I assume she is still in a seperate tank?

Salt? -has never used salt- I need some more info on that.

Yeah she's in that bowl with the heater light and the low level water...

She doesn't look infected... hmmm... and salt sprinkled on her? No, not that large. Perhaps a bit of sugar sprinkled.

Yes, sounds like white spot then. So she's been in that tank all along, never been exposed to any other tanks? Good, because you don't want to spread it. Salt...you can just use any Aquarium Salt you find at the fish store...the usual doasge is a tablespoon per 5 gallons, but you'll have to see what it says on the package. :)

Well she was in the main tank and on Saturday I noticed the spots, put her in quarantine. Watched her on Sunday. Had babies Sunday night. Looked fine Monday morning. Removed babies Monday morning. This morning: put into big tank because spots were still gone. This afternoon: Spots came back. Put back in quarantine.

Oh dear...so the main tank possibly could be contaminated too....she may have gotten the white spots back because of stress. That's usually the cause of ich.

Is there anyway you could post a picture of her, just so we can be certain it's white spot? Though high temperature and salt shouldn't hurt her at all, as long as she has plenty of oxygen. :)

NOOO! UGH! Lalalalalala. *childishly puts hands over ears*

Uhm... no... I don't know hwo to work the digi.... waaah... *cries* And... I don't know if it's white spot. If it is, shouldn't she be behaving real lazy?

And I don't know if she has "plenty" of oxygen... it's just a little bowl with the water real low... it's the best I can do!

Not necessarily. She could be in the early stages, which is good, because you can usually nip it in the bud. :)

Okay, so is there any possibility you could aid an air pump and air stone? Or is that out of the question? Or...you could try a battery powered one. Those usually only cost about $10.

Also, I would reccomend you post in the Emergency section, because they probably have more experience with Ich. I've never had it in my tanks....I just know from reading about it.

Edit: And no. That's a saltwater product. This is what you need: http://www.petsmart.com/global/product_det...D=1123020179900

Can you give me some links to the sort of products I'd need as far as air stones?

So if it's in the early stages does that mean it's less likely to spread?

Oh. Okay... thanks. Hehe it looks like a milk carton...

ewww... posting in the Emergency section. That makes it sound like an emergency. I'm in denial. I don't want to have an emergency.

Oh lovely. *counts money*

I do hope it didn't spread to the main tank...
I tihnk I'll just try the salt whne my dad gets back from his trip. :-(

Okay....I really think you should post in the Emergency section and get some advice...because ich can kill fast. But it's up to you. When will your dad be back?

Tonight... but he won't be in full function 'til the day after tomorrow.

I don't want everyone to die. But... Ugh I shouldn't hav ebought Rory. I knew her gills looked funky. -_-

Is it possible that they are just stress spots?
Because the spots are not 3D.
And they seem to show up when se's in tmes that could be stressful.
Such as birthing. And changing tanks. (Even though I acclimated her for a long time)
