okay i have some questions... i will post them if someone asks first cuz i dont want to look like an idiot lol with no response

will responde quick... is someone gonna try to answer them? lol

What are the questions, I keep some and have read a lot about them.

sweet.. okay

so first stupid question.. about tanks

for a hospital tank, do you have to cycle a tank for hospital use?

more questions to come

Using media from a mature filter may help but if only being used for short term treatments this is not necessary. Also, depending on medication used the bacteria in the filter may be killed back anyway....

Also if water from the main tank is used and topped up with de chlorinated fresh water this will reduce any stress on the fish when transferred....

so if i were to fill a tank with tap water, and a box filter, and us the api proper pH 7.0 it would be alright?

As long as a good conditioner or dechlorinator is used and left for 24 hrs, should be fine...also small sponge filters are great for hospital tanks....

good im glad to hear that...

hwt time is it now in ireland? lol

i still have more questions.. who wants to answer them?

okay lol

umm lets see

my tiger barbs, i beleive one is a femal (one in both green barbs and original tigers)

how do i know when they are ready to breed?

a certain size, or age? lol

Females are larger and heavier bodied..when in breeding condition she will look exceptionally fat compared to the males..this can occur at 1 inch upwards..

okay, cuz i got them pretty small about umm a month ago yesterday

i cant really measure them, cuz they move fast and i want to make sure, and clarify thier size lol

 but i really want to start breeding cuz if i get a bigger tank im gonna need more anyways cuz
1.) i love tigers barbs
2.) i want alot more to reduce the stress and aggression
3.) i want to get other fish

If kept in groups of 7 and above their fin nipping and chasing will be controlled as their natural pecking disputes keep them occupied. They also settle better in larger groups ,also your chances of breeding will be increased..
