yesterday i ordered a 2nd eheim 2217 for my tank it arrived today and when i opened it up 1 of the clips that holds the head down was snapped off , and the pump itself had a big chunk of something rattling inside it . sounded like it was smashed to pieces. i rang warehouse aquatics who were good as gold and said they will arrange for it to be collected and replaced , not their fault . i jus twish these no brained idiot driver appreciated that people have paid good money for the boxes they just chuck about without giving a toss.

I was expecting something different given the title like a courier who delivered by bicycle.

It sucks but they are just doing a job what is the incentive to take care with the boxes when it is all about speed. If I learnt one thing from rugby it is throwing an item is ten times faster then handing it to a team mate.

Haha I didn't even notice until you pointed that out!

To the OP, sorry you've had a bad experience - I think it just depends on who it is who delivers. Sometimes people are conscientious, sometimes they aren't. It's just a shame that when it's things like fish it's not just the recipient who suffers for it.

ooops lol just seen the typo in the title . well speed is one thing but that muppet didnt pay 90 quid for it did he.

true cazzie at least it wasnt livestock .

Funny you should say this as i too got a rena xp3 from warehouse aquatics too and when i found it the head unit had a huge chunk out the side and the whole unit was pulling apart....

thats my input anyways lol

i dont blame warehouse aquatics , ive ordered loads of stuff from them and its always been spot on . i blame the courier .

I'm not saying its appropriate in this case, but as a postie, I'm regularly shocked at the quality of packaging for some items on my delivery round. "Do not bend" items in envelopes with no stiffness at all, parcels in oversize wrapping that enables the item to move (and create holes/rips) in the outer packaging etc. etc.

That is a good point - I bought my hubby a huge camel (he's got a thing about camels!) ornament for Christmas a few years back and when it arrived the head had broken off. When I contacted the seller their response was that they had used the "recommended 4 inches of packaging" around the ornament and therefore it was nothing to do with them. They failed to recognise that they had only packaged it in those polystyrene tube things, no bubble wrap at all, and so it had settled and left the head without any protection! I never did get my money back.

I see what you're saying goat, but on the other hand, excellent packaging doesn't make up for sloppy posties! I guess it's just a case of sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. Bad luck I suppose :(

Excellent packing would stop even the most sloppy postie from destroying something.

By the time it gets to the postie at the end who delivers your items it'll have been handled numerous times & gone through a few machines before your postie even sees it. He's the one who gets it in the neck though, through no fault of his own.

But I agree all items should be handled with care, especially if they are badly packaged.

(I'm a postie too like N0body Of The Goat)
