Hi

what plant nutrient deficiency is responsible for the stunted growth of plants?
I feel that my Glosso isnt developing to its best as they some to have much smaller leaves than others.

Thanks.

This is a description of different deficiencies for Glosso

This small aquarium plant is fairly easy to grow in aquariums with decent lighting and CO2 injection. When lit well (at least 2 watts per gallon with power compact lighting, preferably more) and planted well (see below), this plant will respond by quickly carpeting an aquarium with prostrate runners. When poorly lit, G. elatinoides will respond by growing upright. For fastest growth and vigor, this plant prefers regular additions of nitrate (5 ppm or more), phosphate (0.5 ppm or more), and iron into the water column. This plant will respond to low nitrate by yellowing and prematurely losing its older leaves. Phosphate limited situations will result in slow growth and a dark green color. When it is not getting enough iron and traces, transparent patches will appear on the leaves.

Normally phosphate limitation will result in stunted growth for a lot of plants but this may not apply to glosso.

Quick Edit: i think another factor here is that a lot of glosso is grown emersed and probably takes a couple of weeks to establish itself in the submerged form again.

Thx zig

I am getting a Pressurised CO2 system tomorrow btw everyone. Very excited about it.

Although i dont know how much it will cost me, all i know is that there is an Aqua-medic Branch here in Poznan and it takes 20 minutes by train to get there. I still have to find it tmw. Hope they have the equipment in stock

Very very excited.
