My pygmy chain sword is not growing at all in one of my 3 low tech tanks, so I have decided to replace it with a java moss or riccia carpet according to the FAQ I have seen posted here. My question is this, I think riccia looks better but will it grow in a 30l shrimp tank with 18W of light, no CO2?
I know it talks about CO2 in the section relevant to the riccia, but I am unsure if this is only if you want rapid pearling on the riccia, or if it's also essential for growth (I am not too worried about pearling, just a nice growing lawn).
