Stuff At The Bottom Of Tank Help!

ok i filled my 75 gallon tank and it looked fine but one day later this stuff was on the bottom it was white i do not know how to describe the texture of it but it looked sort of "powdery" i guess you could say so i got my gravel vacuum and got the majority of it out has this ever happened to you this is the first time it has happened to me and what is it and is it bad for my fish pleas help i am very scared that it could harm my fish

Would you be able put a picture on? I had a bit of algae on my sand that was whitish and I did the same as you. My fish are finr.

sorry cant get a pic i got it allot of it out my tank has no substrate in now

What did you fill your tank with? What's your water change regime? Add anything new to the tank recently? What are your water parameters nitrates, nitrites and ammonia?

well i filled it with water i like to keep it professorial lol but ther is nothing in the tank i filled it up just 2 days ago it has no filter so substrate and no decor i dont know what my water is like but i will test it tomorrow.

So do you do water changes or just top off the water when it evaporates? What fish are in the tank? All fish need filtration esp. in a 75 gallon.

Quit while you are ahead, just start over and make sure to get all the right stuff and sanitize everything thourghly.

well as i said i filled it 2 days ago and has no gravel so there are no fish in it

O I wasn't aware you took all the fish out you said you were worried it would harm the fish... I'm not sure what I'm supposed to help you with now, and idk what it looks like sorry

i never ad any fish in it but wen i filled the tank about one day later this stuff started to grow at the bottom of the tank it was what and looked like powdery gel i dont know what it is i have never had this happen to me before

Lol. Misunderstood. I would give the tank and substarate a good clean. I spent hours washing my (proper aquatic) gravel under the tap. I have read some interesting advice on cleaning here

lol yea i put API stress coat and stress zym in it

ok i will just give you a list of the equipment i am going to be using 2 Eheim Skim350 Surface Skimmers. 2 Marineland Emperor 400 power filters. 1 Aqueon 300 watt heater. and 1 Petco Air Pump 4 outlet. all of them have not been used except for one of the Marineland Emperor 400 filters but i do not have any of these yet except for one of the Marineland Emperor 400 power filters none of this stuff is on the tank yet and the one filter i do have is just being used for the same fish that is going in the 75 gallon tank witch would be my big jaguar cichlid that needs a upgrade
