it can live in higher temps, but it's not ideal.

I think they may also be restricted in the UK due to them being able to survive lower temps. Not sure on that though!

okies, so id be looking at a tetratec 1200 or similar

they are highly regarded filters. Never had one myself though, I use the Fluval range.

Don't get silver dollars - they're a pain in the #17#####.
You could up your columbian numbers to get a nice shoal - maybe up them to about 12 or so.
If you like neons then you should up the numbers there too to about 6-10.
For a centrepiece fish, you could look at angels if you aren't bothered about your neons welfare... lol or something like a killifish species if you want something colourful and peaceful.

4 or maybe 5 - then any aggro between them is spread out. I had 3 in the 180l and one just picked on the other 2 constantly, but if there's more of them then they're cool.
My bad kid is in time-out in another tank now to reflect on his bad behaviour You coulda had him if you were nearer...
