looking for lights for 7ft tank to fit in closed hood  (led or T5's)    want them to be fairly bright.  cichlid tank.
seems difficult to find for 7 ft.

anyone got an opinion on Lunar LED lights (UK)

any idea's welcome

In my 6 foot I have just used a 4 foot light fitting and I stagger the lights just enough to get a good spread across the tank - it also gives the sides a bit of shade which is good for the fish and also hides the equipment in the shadows a little.

I have a six foot tank that has 5-foot T5 tubes, staggered, like Wills says.

I looked at this and thay say they replace T5's and T8's: http://www.lunarled.co.uk/

Edit: Now I'm rather interested in this. £264 for a six-foot aquarium; should get that back in electricity bills in about two years.

Yes lunar led , look good on the face of it , but will it be enough light thats my worry

I wish I could answer that. I'm hoping someone will say they are fine but I have my doubts, they are LEDs after all. Having said that, I have in front of me a battery (just 4 AA cells) torch that has a special LED in it that emits 900 lumens on full power and that is enough to see half a mile in the dark (I kid you not, you can't look into the beam without damage); if the tank lights were even an eighth as powerful they would still be too bright.
