I have a 16 gallon Biorbe.

The air pump it comes with is Reef 1 Max output 2L/MIN.

Would it be bad if I got a stronger one to get more air bubbles/stronger current?

Also they have the light and air pump connected to the same ac adapter so I can't put a timer on the light. So I want to seperate these with a new pump or adapter.

Thoughts?

maybe try and get the intelligent light that changes atomically then you wont need to worry about the timing.

Also the air pump that comes with the biorbs are usually fine. It really would depend on the fish you are getting?

I gave you answer in the welcome center. Let me repeat the content here.

A more robust air pump will not likely move any more water for you Buster. The water flow in a lift tube is a fine balance between having enough bubbles to drive the flow efficiently and having so much there is nothing but air flowing out of the tube. We used to experiment with the ratios a lot in the days when all filters were driven by air, yes I'm that old, and it is about 1/3 air to 2/3 water in the tube that gives the best water flow. A separate air pump will definitely give you better control of air flow vs. lighting and will let you put the light on a timer, so it might be worth it just for that reason. There are even air pumps made that let you adjust the air flow that they deliver, without using a valve to throttle them.

I did look at that but it is really expensive and its LED so it won't give any light to my real plants I have planted. But it does look like a nice light.
