Stringy Poo

have had two congo tetras in the hospital tank for nearly three weeks now. have treated with Pimafix and Myxazin two cycles of 5 days. The white stringy poo has changed to brown/red stringy poo but it still seems to hang from their bodies too long. I was wondering about putting them back in the main tank as I hadn't seen it for a few days and then today it was there again. Have done another water change but does anyone have any ideas about whether I should persevere with the Pimafix and Myxazin or try something different? Something available in the UK please.

Your fishes are most likely suffering from internal parasites. Look for food containing prazi and/or metro. Jungle Labs makes one and I Hikari also makes one under the name PraziPro. Sometimes stringy poo can also be caused by bacterial infections, sou might want to get some anti-bacterial food medication(Jungle sells these). But more than likely its caused by parasites.

Long stringy white poo, constipation, bacterial infection, to internal parasites.
Need to look at what you feed the fish.
Do you feed bloodworms.
If there any signs of a red worm prutruding from the anus, a red inflamed enlarged anus.

will get the meds for intestinal parasites. There is nothing protruding and no redness they look fine most the time then another time they have this long poo and one has gone back to white and stringy. I never feed live tubifex only frozen and live daphnia/brineshrimp as well as the usual flake food and occasional peas

my dear Wilder, how long did it take to come, the meds you just posted in the link? i mean how long for delivery?

Fry lover I don't know but I would say two days at the most.
I got my flubenol else where.

oh right, i am used to getting it from one supplier, you know the one, but he responded once but i needed clarification and havent heard back from him
