Striking Colour Change In 1 Of My Jade Eyed Cichlids

these fish always seem to be changing colour heres the latest change

are they the breeding colours?

judging by the color of the eye turning black then yes they seem to be breeding colours i have seen this before in one of my mates tanks he had a pair of jade eyes as well and they turned liek a blacky grey and i cant remmeber if its the male or females eyes turn jet black so ye you may have a breeding pair going on mark

strange tho thatonly 1 has changed the other looks like this still maybe a touch darker .

i think its either the male or female that gets the dark eyes and dramatically changes im not sure which one but and like u said the other has a slight increase of darkness to the body

1 of them has been digging pits in the sand but theres not exactly much interaction between the 2 fish as of yet.

yep they have deffinately grown on me wasnt that keen when i got them but they are becoming great little fish
