I was just browsing around the Aquarium Pharmaceuticals website and i saw these two products. They had a pretty brief description of what it does. But does anyone have anything else i should know about them. Like what does it do, and can they be used together? or should they be used regularly?

Some folks use them for shipping fish. Ammo-Lock is only useful if you have an ammonia spike in a tank. It helps solve the symptoms, but not the problem of what caused the ammo spike. It's nothing you need to have on hand unless you plan on shipping fish on a regular basis.

It adds benificial bacteria to the water to improve bioligical filteration, making an aquarium healthier.

Don't believe sales literature. Unless it has been refrigerated, those bacteria are dead. Ammo-Lock is more useful than Stress Zyme, it converts ammonia to ammonium. It's good for fish that are being shipped, they are in the same bag of water for a couple of days, and ammonia can really take off. It's also useful when reviving a poorly maintained tank. Stress Zyme makes the fishkeeper feel better more than anything else. Don't waste your money.

I don't believe Stress Zyme is that beneficial. Some was added to my recent purchase of platys. Out of the trio, the two females developed whitespot, then fungus, and died! The male had a bit, but i was treating the tank for it then and it cleared up. The whitespot infestation also took a neon and a guppy.

Like you say Tolak, it makes the LFS seem more professional or responsible by them adding it to fish purchases, but in reality, it doesn't make up for the fish being unhealty in the first place.
