A few wekes ago I wrote a post about a black molly changing color. He went very white, I thought it was old age, some people said it was changing color as they do..... well he is no longer with us.
He died a few days ago.
We have replaced him with a great looking black sailfin molly, and a black female.

The bad news is that a few of the other fish now have white spot!!!!
The local fish man gave us some stuff to treat it and told us to add salt water and to raise the temperature.

He says the white spot is caused by stress. :dunno:
The only thing I can think of that could be stressing my fish is... they might not be getting anough food.
They are pigs, and fist in gets the food.
OR, the food. We couldn't get the regular food and brought color enhancing food.

All the fish are geting along fine in the tank, so I cant see that being a problem.
The barbs keep to themselves and dont annoy the others.
Its like a nice happy family.

Is white spot part of stress??????????

White spot can be a sign of stressed fish....it will make them more prone to it anyway...

Pehaps the new fish you got introduced it into the tank....

Are you treating in any way?

And yes, fish are worse than kids. I am beginning to wonder if I should ditch the fish and have kids instead...I know theres no way I'd cope with both :p

Nah.....I wouldn't give my fish up for anything

they are worse than kids. i have 16 tanks ranging from 1 to 210 gal, 3 kids, 1 grandkid, a hubby, 3 dogs and 2 cats. the fish take the most work. and provide the most relaxation.

you need to get some ick medicine. do you have any scaleless fish in there? if so be careful of salt and meds. the meds should say what dose to use with them.

I have added the medication, and also turned the temperature up a little as well.
Salt has also been added.
Looks like it is working.
The white spot seems to be going away.
One of the black neons has gone MIA, and I cant find it.
I will pull up the plants on the weekend during the water change, and see if I can find it.
Other than that, things look normal in the tank.

I am going to need medication soon, because I am getting stressed ,worrying about my fish getting stressed....

Update about the white spot and my fish.
Both fish that had the major problems with white spot have dided.
The black neon that was MIA has been found, and half an hour ago, I noticed the guppies attacking the other sick fish.It was dead.
Also one of the green barbs has it as well.
Will the other fish in the tank get it??????????????

I have read a few post on this site regarding white spot, and most have suggested that its stress that cause it.
The black neon was NOT a new addition to the tank, so I cant understandy why it got it.
The other fish that died was a new arrival. I brought 4 of them one got white spot another has a little bit, the other 2 are doing ok, with the exeption they havent eaten in nearly 2 weeks.
The flake food gets eaten by the others, and they dont seem smart enough to work out whats going on.
