I recently set-up a 12 gal tank (6 male plattys; 4 corys) and chose to keep only males livebearers because I have no place to put any fry. I don't want the number of fish to increase resulting in a poor environment. Now I'm thinking that the monastic lifestyle may be causing added stress that wouldn't be present if females were included. The largest platty (2" sunset male) rules the tank; chases a couple of males in particular. There hasn't been any nipping, nor have the fish tried to "mate". I am considering adding some more hiding places. Any thoughts? Thank you,
