back when i was starting out in here, i mentioned hexagons and roselines, ect. I failed to see why everyone was so appauled by the suggustion, but now i see that when you mention hexagons here, you all assume a tall hexagon that is probably a foot long best.

This strech Hex. is what I am talking about.

I think it works a lot better than a 39 gallon that is taller than it is long for that sort of tank.
 
there are lots of people on the fourm reporting of 2x and 3x doing excellent together... I don't see why not to do three if there are so many copius reports of it being a good number.
 
I still don't agree shoaling fish need 5 minimum, they grow to be 6", they need a 4' long tank as they are active swimmers.
 
Indeed, 4' long is probably very minimum, although I haven't kept them myself, they seem and are reportedly very active.
