Strange Zeb Danio Behaviour

Hey, i think one of my zeb danios maybe pregnant, its stomach is fairly large, (i presume if its pregnant) she has been like this for about 4 days. Thing is, she is protecting this plant in the corner of my tank, and if any of the fish smaller than it go near it, it chases them off.
Is (maybe) she ready to spawn or something, and wants to use the tree for the eggs?

Well, I can't explain really why shes doing that, but I can tell you Danios are "Egg scatteres" when it comes to spawning. They just throw the eggs all over the place and let them float to the gravel, and wish them best of luck.

your problem is that you have 2 danios.
one of them is becooming aggressive because it is the alpha fish.
if you don't rehome or make the school up to at least 5 the alpha
will soon kill everything in the tank.

Well since the Female Danios are larger than the males would that be an Aplha Female you're talking about.

I have 3 Zebras in my tank (and I know you told me before that I should reshouse them Wolf, but unfortunately I can't) well I did a water change yasterday and after it I could only find 2 fish, Moochy and one of the Zebras (to be honest it looks now like there's 2 long finned and one regular Zebra so I think I'll have to change my signature). I couldn't find the other 2 for ages then I discovered them hiding underneath the piece of bogwood I have. They were there for a good while then finally came of and started swimming closley around each other. I had a good laugh thinkin that they were getting jiggy under the bogwood and had a few hugs for each other when the finally came out

What can you tell me about this, Wolf?

I have 4 females and 2 male zebra danios, and i havnt had any eggs yet Ive had them for around 4-5 months too..........

I just checked my wallet, and i'm skint, no cash. I doubt i'll be able to get any till tues.. Will this be a problem? Or should i get some money asap and buy 3 more.

they were proberbly scared by the comotion in the tank and sought selter.
perfectly normal and nothing to worry about.

You proberbly have had eggs but were not up early enough to see the event.
danios will spawn at the crack of dawn, and I've seen them eat eggs as more are
comming out the other end.

If you really want to breed them checkout my website and go to the sexing & breeding page.
Just make sure you have buyers for the fry, danios can lay over 500 eggs at at time, although
you'll be lucky to have 5% make it to a saleable size.

Tuesday will be fine
just keep your eye on the alpha fish, if it looks like it's getting rough in the tank,
dip your net in. This should help dissipate the aggression, at least for a while.
