Strange White 'blotches'

He's looking more promising now. It seems his fins are starting to seperate, which is a relief as I was worried he was going to be stuck with twisted looking fins. The white patches are again reduced in size.

One thing I have noticed, his fins on his sides are looking abit tatty, but nothing too serious and hopefully will regrow. He has been flicking a little bit too on some of the plants. So might not be the end to the problems.

Here he is swimming, he'll hopefully keep getting better

Sounds like you're doing the right things for him, his fins are looking better :good:

Thank you, I love Bettas and I want him to have a long and happy life.

I just hope his fins do unstick and go back to their beautiful old self

Keep with the salt for at least a week. So glad he's responding well to salt baths. Next course of action would be copper meds. I do suspect some sort of external parsite if your water quality is good. Only so many reasons for clmped fins. I'm very happy for you tht the dips are helping. He does appear somewht better. So keep up the good work!
keep us posted :)
cheers!

Well they don't seem clamped anymore, just 'sticky'. He is back to his routine when swimming like in the vid of swim, stop with fins spread, swim, stop, spread. Not flared spread, just at ease.
I am looking at the ventral fins and they have the white patch on them too.

But his Caudal fin has opened up even more. Salt baths do seem to be the way to go.

Which copper med?

EDIT: I treated him and the rest of the tank to some bloodworms, though I thing some of them pigged out abit too much. Some rather rounder tummies then before. Poor Blaine is resting off his treat on a leaf. I hope he isn't bloated. Diet for a day or two me thinks

Ok so Day 6 of salt baths and water changes. He is doing better I think, though the problem hasn't gone away entirely yet. The white slime patches have reduced in most of the places they were, but there are others still left on the fins. I wonder if it's something in the water that is causing this. should I consider a 100 % water change perhaps? The salt baths have helped I am sure, so I could just keep up with those. He's still in good spirits, same behaviour as before.
