One of my male bettas -- Mo -- has a strange silver/white spot just above and behind his right eye. Any thoughts on what it might be? I was away for the weekend and saw it last night when I was feeding him.

Is he ok otherwise? Feeding ok? Swimming ok? The only betta I ever had died of slime coat. Wait for the betta experts to answer you. The only other thing I can think of is are your water values ok, Nitrites, ammonia?

He seems to be his usual self... he's always been more docile than my other betta, but he seems to be swimming OK, and he ate his food right up.

I'm new to the world of bettas, so any leads I can get would be helpful. I had an expert who I usually go to, but can't any more.

Is he rubbing it on objects as sometimes it can be a parasite.

you may want to get a heater and thermometer. if it looks like salt sprinkled on him, it could be ich, and that doesnt' last as long in higher temps (82 F). some aquarium salt and maybe maracide will help if its ich.

hopefully someone else can help a little more.

OK -- thanks for all the help... I tried the picture, but my camera couldn't get a good picture.

I'll give him a water change and check out the heater/thermometer suggestion.
