Hey all went ot my LFS the other day and was having a nosey at the goldfish tanks and saw some orandas thats bumpy bit on the head(srry dont know the name) was falling off, some looked like they had been riped off and the tank was really murky. Another tanks water looked fine but one of the fish was missing an eyeball.... and you could see right into its head! tht was mingin......
Any way my general meaing of this post is;
If the goldfish are like this, will the other fish be ok from there, as i was planning on getting some discus from there, when they got some good ones in.

Thanks
Greg

depends really whas ther a no sale sign on the gold fish it could have just been a bad delivery from ther suppliers and they could be looking after them for the time but if ther willing to sell them on i wouldent risk buying fish from a place like that wats the store called?

well then if it has a good rep thats normally best to go on i mean there could be a simple explination with the goldfish like a fish acidently got dropped into the wrong tank i have seen chidren before getting the nets when pple aren looking and trying to catch the fish and put them in a diffrent tank .

i know lately that my lfs had an accident with ther black knife fish when they first got them some babie clown loach got into ther tank and gave them a fright and they took them of sale for an extra week.

so its proberly nothing mate just kep an eye out in the future and see whats sort of things going on :)

I went to well known pet shop on a retail park in manchester (you work out the rest) and I was disgusted. I couldn't find a tank without at least one dead fish in. One tank had dead fish that were so old they had fur growing on them. There was a tank full of goldfish, one dead one floating on the top and one half eaten one of the bottom and the rest gasping or sitting in the bottom. The dead goldfish weren't small and easy to miss, they were 3-4 inches each. They had a tank full of angel fish, most of which had fin rot.

I won't be going there again

well i don't think there would be a problem with the other fish (if they are in another tank) just look at them carefully

I couldn't find any to help. One person walked past but then dissapeared. Gave up looking in the end.
