I noticed these two guys tonight. On the left is a Clown Loach and the right an Asian Bumblebee Cat, both about 4 inches long. The cat always stays in there during the day but the Clown is out and about all the time and only occasionally disappears, I know where he goes now
The hole in that log is only 1 1/4 inches and suction cupped to the tank wall....needless to say it's a tight fit.

After lights out they came out together and swam as a pair  I think that their similar markings are confusing them......aside from that I don't know what's up.

Lol... I love it when fish start pairing up with different species, it's totally cute!
I also love that it looks like your cat is smiling! It looks so happy with it's buddy hehe

The little dwarf platy in our community tank has come to like the harlequin rasboras VERY much. I've watched him start swimming with them for a while now. I thought he might be trying to peck at them, but no, he just likes swimming with them. If one darts off too quickly for him, he'll find the nearest one and start swimming with it :p He doesn't do it with the porkchop rasboras.. only the harlequin.. *shrugs*

Nope I don't have any other clowns, but the clown usually swims with my 3 zebra loaches. I also have a male platy that is always swimming with one of my 2 red tail sharks or my rainbow shark....fish can be very weird at times.

It's easy to put human behaviours on our animals and their cute little faces hardly help!

Just remember, these fish arent the same species even if one of them is confused and needs some pals of his own, they're sharing the same uncomfortably tight space because it is the most ideal place to hide, not necessarily because they like to snuggle together  :D

Are there other similar hide options in your tank?

p.s: cute pic tho!!! :good:

The tank is a 55gal with tons upon tons of hiding places. My 7 inch plec seemingly disappears and my 8 inch BGK can elude me from time to time along with a few others. I've been watching them pretty closely and the clown hangs out with zebra loaches most of the time when lights are on but once lights out he stays close to the bumblebee cat....strange.
