Hi, i got down this morning and noticed that my black tetra was strangely fat? It got feed last night and not this morning just to see if it was food or not, it isnt. Does anyone have any clues on what it could be? Ive got 2 main photos to show. There is a slight bump on his left hand side he's had this since a week after buying him, doesnt bother him just makes him swim upward and not straight, hes had it for a few months.

The top pic looks like the fish is full of eggs. How long has it been fat for? If it has been like this for a couple of weeks then it is probably eggs. If it happened overnight then it is bloated, possibly from an internal infection.

If you only have the one fish then it could be an egg bound female. Black neon tetras need to be kept in groups of their own kind. If a female is kept on her own she will develop eggs but be unable to expel them without a mate. Then she will become egg bound and stay permanently fat.
