I always called them dragonflies here in the USA. When I was little I lived near a swap and I found a big one of these guys. I kept it as a pet outside (mom would not let it in the house). Then one day it was gone. But those guys are cool I agree. They eat mosquito larvae what's not to like about them. It's so cool to watch them catch and eat the mosquito larvae.
There is a difference between damsels and dragons mate but they are all the same family.
I would be a little concerned about dragons in a tank with small fish like minnows etc (depending on dragon species) and especially shrimp but damsels not at all!
In fact I recently found one myself (I posted somewhere here) it was quite interesting as I did not have a clue what it was living off. I suspect it was feeding off insuflora and other tiny animals not visible. When I introduced my shrimp I think he might have got one as for the first time ever he had colour in his belly lol! (they are never pale / white in the wild as far as I am aware).
Anyway I moved it to my betta tank but unfortunately my betta was poorly so had to dose invert unfriendly meds and I haven't seen it for a while now
I will definitely be keeping any more I find and I suggest all fish keepers to do the same because they are not that bad (more likely end up as food for fishes) and it is amazing to see what these things turn into
