About 3 weeks ago I bought some black widows for my tank, just 2 small ones, and in the last few days I've noticed one of them isn't growing at the same rate as the other. This has caused me to keep a very close eye on her and I've noticed some odd behaviour.
I had a Kenyi cichlid which mysteriously died with no symptoms of illness or problems. The cichlid was in my tank about 1 week. I think this died due to problems from the aquarium I bought it from, as other people have reported poor conditions and plenty of fish are bought from there with white spot and other conditions.
Since the Kenyi died, the black widow has stayed at the bottom of the tank, often looking like she's shivering and appearing to gasp, despite no other fish gasping. I can't see any other problems such as reddened gills, parasites or skin problems etc.
Any ideas?
