I have a Melanochromis auratus that has recently started to 'attack' the glass...

A lot of my fish swim up and down the glass against their reflections, but this is the first time I have seen one doing this!

I do have a video of it, but I'm not sure how to upload it. Does anyone else own any fish that do this? :S

You have simply one of the most hyper aggressive africans you can find. You didnt know this BEFORE you bought the fish? He's seeing his reflection and trying to kill it...

Hope your other fish are doing ok because auratus are killers

wow. if it has just started it then it is prob a sun adult that has reached its age where it wants to fight with others of its sort.. keep a close and I mean close eye on it as it could go for the other fish and you will end up with just the Auratus left.

Hi,
Im not to sure this is good but i am sure my zebra used to "attack" the glass. It was not very big abuout 1-2". Not sure it is much good adivce but when the zebra started to do this he used to attack and nip the fish alot more, look out for the other fish in your tank.
