I got two keyhole cichlids that I have had for over 2 years and in that time they have got on wonderfully. They always hang out together and swim around as if they were joined at the hip. The last few days though one is hiding all the time and when it does venture out the other keyhole starts flaring and the first one runs and hides again. The only thing thats really changed in my tank is that I started to run co2 again last week.

Never seen this behavior between these two before and im worried for the one that keeps hiding. I am really concerned, as for the last two years they have really been best of buddies. Anyone got any ideas what could be going on.

Prob one wants to breed and the other doesn't ... Co2 won't effect them in this way the only thing it can do is lower your ph but only way to tell is to know if you have a male and female pair males usually have more elongated dorsal and anal fins and the females are also rounder bodied
