Hi. I posted about my ABF in the emergency forum this afternoon, and I've yet to receive any replies. I know that not everyone reads the emergency forum, so thought I might have some success if I asked the Odd[ball] People ;) to check out the other thread.

Basically, my ABF kept sinking to the bottom of the tank today. This evening, he's back on the surface and finally eating again. I'd like a little insight, if possible. I have several theories, but nothing I'm sure of.

Thanks in advance,
Pamela

This morning he was in a plant, this afternoon in another plant. Now he's back on the surface looking perfectly normal again. He just ate a few bits of shrimp, maybe two. That's not odd, though, because he generally only ate every other day, even before I cut back on feeding, and he had a big meal last night.

I think I'll ask in the emergency forum about this, but do swim bladder problems come and go? I was under the impression that they generally just got worse and worse, or that the fish looked like he was struggling to get to the surface. This just looks like my ABF wants to take a nap. And because this fish typically plays dead and just floats for days on end (until he's hungry), it's really hard to tell if he's having problems. A change in the way a fish swims is ususally the first thing you notice, but what do you do about a fish that rarely swims? :dunno:
