Storing Brine Shrimp Eggs

Hey everyone,
Well im interested in hatching brineshrimp for my betta, (and my other fish), but am confused about one thing.
My friend told me that the eggs you dont hatch immitiadtly must always be kept in a cold dark place.
I havnt found ANYWHERE online that says if this is true or not.
