I just got a call from my roomates sister that she's shutting down her 55g tank, and is offering it to me for 55$ with everything, and everything in it! It has my opaline gourami, and a large shoal of neon tetras, which I'll rehome. So that leaves me with a 55 gallon tank (that I really don't have room for....) and a cycled filter, heater, etc. Unfortunately she didn't have any real plants, but a very nice piece of driftwood. Don't even know what to do now, trying to find a corner that I can cram it in...I'll probably pick it up some time next week, the reason I made this thread was for suggestions on fish. Maybe I can finally fulfill my dream of owning discus :D. I know some people say 55 is too small and 75 is minimum, but I also know a ton of people successfully keep them in 55s, if only 2-4. I'm definetly going to heavily plant it. 55 might seem small to some, but I'm super excited because the largest tank I've had is only 30gs, which limits me. I've also always really wanted bosemani rainbows, would those work with an opaline and discus? Any other suggestions for fish that you can't keep in smaller tanks would be greatly appreciated. Just today I suggested to someone a gold nugget pleco and maybe I can finally get my hands on one, or my other favorite l134s. Oh yeah and I also have no idea as far as plants

Trying to remember, was it you who had the dream about your gourami? If it was awesome at this outcome for you :D

In terms of discuss, I cannot help you there, although having never kept them before, I believe cardinal tetras are the tank mates for them, as they like to be kept in warmer waters that other fish don't tolerate well?

Others feel free to correct me.

Good luck noahsfish :)
