Hi everyone,

I just wanted to know if I could fit a couple more platys in my tank (Size and fish list in signature).

The tank seems great at the mo and levels are fine, but I know that the fish will grow bigger, especially clown loach and angels. (We'll probably start up a 2nd tank when that happens + neons will need refuge as angels grow.)

I think i'd have to have about four in a group though according to lfs woman. I don't mind if it would be too much though as all the other fish are lovely too. :D

I really think you have enough. Do you use another filter or rely just on the juwel one?

I agree, though 2 more platies wouldn't make a big difference, you realy need to concentrate on those fish you alreadu mentioned - you know, the ones that are going to get huge... If you can get a new tank - either a bigger one for the clown loaches, plecs and angels (and pearls if you wish) - or a smaller one for the tetras, livebearers and dwarf gouramies (and pearls if you wish - they'd do fine in either)... then you can start considering new fish.

I only use the juwel one as my levels are fine etc and fish seem very happy. Would you recommend another then?

Juwel tanks are very good for planted tanks with few fish and their filter is adequate for that purpose. If you want more fish, then you will need more filtration. I have a juwel tank that is well stocked with fish as well as well planted, and I run an external filter on the tank as well as the internal juwel filter.

Cheers for the advice. I think i'll stick to the fish I have for now and introduce another filter if any of the levels prove difficult to maintain.
