Stocking With Denisoni Barb

HI EVERYBODY

Basically i have myself a little Rena Panoramic 120 and have got myself 9, approx 3" if that, Denisoni ( Red line torpedo) barbs in there, along with a male and female pearl gourami and about 5 large black neon tetras

Curios if there are any other fish anyone could recommend, oh i forgot to mention there are about 11 cory cats in there too which are all pretty large along with a couple of zebra loach.

Everyone gets on happy as larry never had any conflicts or even seen fish chasing one another so just wondering if anyone could advise something else to put in there?

With the barbs eventually getting relativly larger could i add any more gourami's maybe?

just wondering what people may think alllll opinions welcome

is the tank 340L if so sounds great but if its 120L then very small for these fish....

the barbs will get quite big, they need quite a bit of room as they are very active. 9 is a good number as they prefer to be in groups but maybe wrong wrong fish for that tank if 120L.......

i would also up the numbers of neons again they prefer the largest group you can, maybe up it to 10+. cant beat a good group of black neons, neons or cardinas etc etc

It's a 340 litre tank so plenty of volume, although I still think a bigger longer tank is needed to see torpedo barbs in all their glory

They have some in an LFS some distance from me, not for sale in a massive tank, they look gorgeous

I'd say add one nice big severum cichlid in there, they are very peaceful for a cichlid and have loads of character, I'll be getting one shortly, hopefully a Rotkeil Severum if I can find one locally. Not sure how they would get on with Gourami though...maybe a bit risky?

well i dont really want to get rid of the gourami's as i had one of them from when i first got this tank about 2 year ago.

obviously id love a bigger tank, but the size they are at the minute is good, and the fact i have my tank in my bedroom seen as though my mother wont let me buy a giant one for downstairs soooooooo, just this little one for now

maybe just have to leave it for now and just watch my deni's grow i guess thanks anyway guys

i had four denisoni barbs in my 100 litre tank with everything and anything, a male betta, some tiger barbs, catfish, otos, gouramis, tetras.. they are peaceful barbs and will not harm anything. Saying that they do grow very quick.. mine where about 1.5" each but eventualy got to about 3 or 4" so i gave them to my friend who had a bigger tank.. they need loadss of room as they are very active and dash about extremly fast. beautifull fish though

Don't let my comment put you off, what do I know, I haven't keep both those fish together myself.

Have a good read, I'm sure there are some out there who have Gourami and Sev's in the same tank....people have Angel fish (cichlid) and Gouramis together right
