I'm getting a new Juwel Trigon 350 in about a month, and I'm starting to look into stocking and could do with some advice. The whole setup will be as follows -

Juwel Trigon 350 tank, internal filter removed and bulbs changed for plant growing
Eheim 2128 thermofilter
TMC Vecton 25 (not for continous use, just to sort out any algae probs)
Co2 System, I haven't really looked into this yet, but getting advice on this from a good LFS

The tank is going to be live planted, and I'm aware that this could affect tank capacity, or ability to deal with waste loads, but I'll put more details in the plant forum.

The proposed starting occupants for the tank, after it has been fishless cycled are as follows -

L200, Ancistrinae sp.
Cardinal Tetra
Some varierty of Cory
a Male Betta

My problem is, I've no idea what the capacity of a 350lt tank is. Ideally, I'd like 3/4 L200's, but I'm aware they grow to over 7", a school of Cardinals and Corys, and the single Betta. Can anyone advise on numbers, preferably allowing for other fish to be added later. Also, can anyone advise on keeping Betta in a community tank? I've been told by several LFS that they can, but would like another oppinion.

cheers,

Nik.

having done some research probably bronze and albino Cories, same thing really.

please help people!

350 ltrs is approx. 87 gallons. You could probably put 3 of the plecs in as long as they are not too territorial. Maybe even 4 though plecs are messy and it might be pushing it for territory.

The betta would be fine.

When it comes to numbers... Well one betta for sure, 10 tetras (you could always add more later I suppose), the 3 plecos and (keeping in mind that the plecos will be taking up some of the bottom so it might be tight for the cories) around 7 cories.

I think because the tank is a corner unit, the surface area is maximized, which is good for any bottom feeders.

The figures you gave, 3/4 plecs, 7 cories, 10 tetra, are they gor a fully stocked tank?

thanks

Nik

in 87 gallons, i would double the quantity of tetras
i have 7 in a 20 gallon. they hang out tightly in groups so you can add more without a problem

I'd stick to 3/4 plecs and maybe just over 7 cories (possibly up to 10 - just watch for signs of territoriality from the plecs) but you could add some more middle and top dwelling fish later - that is to say you would not be fully stocked with the numbers I suggested but you might over-crowd the bottom if you get too many bottom-dwellers.
