stocking suggestions

I have just gotten a 5 gal. starter kit. Normally I wouldn't get such a small tank but I got it for 20 bucks instead of the original 50. Does anyone have any stocking suggestions? Coldwater species preferred. However, goldfish are out of the question.

hard dude there ain't alot cold water fish beside goldfish . Read our fish index for all cold fish available to you. Beside 5g is way too small for any cold water fish.

the only fish I have ever heard of living happily in a 5 gal is a betta or a dwarf puffer. Depending on the temp in your house, you could possibly get away without a heater for the betta. With the dwarf puffer, make sure to do a fishless cycle before adding one.
