Hi there,

This is my stocking suggestion for my 125 litre tank, its 36" 18" 12", PH 7.5, medium hard water hardness, medium planted.

phase 1: After tank cycling
phase 2: 2 weeks later
phase 3: 4 weeks after phase 2

1 x male Bristle nose (phase 1)
1 pair - Pearl Gouramis (phase 1)
6 Platys (phase 2)
10 Neon Tetras (phase 2)
5 Corys (phase 2)
1 Red Tail Black Shark (phase 2)
1 pair - Blue Rams (phase 3)
1 pair - Angel Fish (phase 3)

I realise that this is close to been over stocked but i think it will be ok, any input would be greatful.

Regards,
Jonny

Take out the Red Tail Shark out and I think you'll be fine.

mmm i was wondering about that but then thought that they are not a overly aggressive species so long as there is only 1 per tank and that it has its own cave. If i do go ahead i will be sure to buy a small one then most of the other fish will be bigger than it and it should therefore be less aggressive and when it gets bigger hopefully it would be more accepting of its tank mates. Do you think this might work or is it just a no no?

Many thanks,
Jonny

The angelfish will eventually begin eating the neons, and I'm also not so sure about the shark. I've never kept one myself but I've heard all sorts of horror stories about them. It would probably be fine when small but then later I'd be afraid of it killing neons and tearing up angelfish. Otherwise I think it sounds okay.
