I made a list of what I want for my 55 gallon mbuna tank that I'm gonna buy in the next few months.

Can you tell me if these species are compatible? How many I could fit? If I could fit more?

I don't know the common names, just scientifics.

Labidochromis caeruleus
pseudothropheus tropheus
pseudothropheus crabro
cyrtocara moorii

I'd like to breed these guys too, so I want groups if possible. I'm pretty much just looking to breed the moorii and lab.

Thanks.

Hi, The only problem i realy see is the crabo and the moori the crabo is a very agrisive fish even for mbuna, while the moori is a very friendly fish even for a hap, so can't imagine it working, the tropheus is also likely to be too agrisive to be kept with a moori, so I would just drop the moori and similar problems are likely to arise with the crabo and the caeruleus. You really have to set up an agrisive tank if you go for a crabo so lombardoi, demasoni, auratus, johanni are a few fish that come to mind that would work with it. Crabo's can work with Labs in large enough tanks I'm not sure if yours counts so if your stuck on this and noone else says not you might try it, but still no moori with crabo maybe with an acie
And as for numbers about three different types with 1 male and three females for each maybe an extra female in a few groups if you want more fish
Uhmm and is the name maybe wrong for the tropheus :dunno: can't figure out what your referring to, but if it is a mbuna then the above should be correct

pseudotropheus tropheus is an mbuna. it gets to be about 5-6" fully grown. it is a more peaceful species of mbuna. it is a mouthbrooder. in it's natural environment it stays along the substrate. you will notice that it does not swim horizontally, but rather at an angle head up. it likes to feed on algae on the rocks. p. tropheus will also feed on plankton if it is found.
